On Sunday afternoon, I had the opportunity to join Dannemora EMS for a special ceremony dedicating their new ambulance to Alice Thompson, who passed away last December after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Alice proudly worked as an EMS Supervisor for Dannemora/ Saranac for 14 years, and was an active member of the Champlain-Mooers Volunteer Ambulance Service and the Champlain Fire District. At the end of the day, not only was Alice one of the best in the world of emergency services, to those who knew her know she was also an amazing friend and an even better mother and grandmother. She’ll always be loved and honored by all who knew her, and whenever 451 is called out to help someone in need, Alice’s memory will continue to live on.
