Assemblyman Jones recognizes the Blair Brothers

I joined North Country Honor Flight along with members of local law enforcement, emergency services, and local dignitaries to right a wrong of the past and honor a North Country family. The Blair brothers recently went on the last Honor Flight of the year and during their police escort one of the Blair brothers told New York State Trooper, James D’Ambro, he couldn’t believe his family has never been recognized officially for their service and sacrifices to our country. So, with the help of Honor Flight, we gave them a surprise ceremony honoring their family. When we kicked off the ceremony with a lights and sirens parade, the brothers were very surprised when the last vehicle in the parade, the Honor Flight bus, dropped off their family members who said they couldn’t make it to the ceremony. It was an honor to recognize the Blair’s who served our country to help out their family of 13 who lived in a one-room school house with no running water. It was an honor to recognize the Blair veterans and their family!
