I started today off by meeting members of the Jay Volunteer Fire Department, Keene Volunteer Fire Department, and Keene Valley Hose and Ladder Company No. 1 to talk about the issues they've had recruiting and retaining new members and funding needed for capital projects. Volunteer fire departments across the North Country are all experiencing these issues, and that is why I am visiting local fire departments to hear firsthand how the state can help them get the members, facilities, and equipment they need to continue keeping our communities safe. I appreciate everyone taking time to talk to me today, and I will continue working with my colleagues in Albany to pass legislation to help our local fire departments.
Let’s further strengthen our communities, together. With your help and support, anything is possible. Please consider making a contribution to the D. Billy Jones campaign today.
